They help regulate the body's many systems to allow the body to heal itself - endocrine, adrenal, etc. It's a live food so it's absorbed better than supplements and has had some miraculous results. It's a cancer fighter as well. I didn't want to wait until my dogs were ill to start using it and I feel so strongly about it, I tell just about everyone I know who has pets. Good news about Sammy!
